Standing orders are available for the Paleontological Society Papers. Publications generated by or receiving support from the Paleontological Society include:

Journal of PaleontologyJournal of Paleontology – Published since 1927, the Journal of Paleontology is published  six times a year and is devoted to research in all areas of paleontology. Click link for journal policies and instructions for authors. The Journal of Paleontology publishes original articles and notes on the systematics, phylogeny, paleoecology, paleogeography, and evolution of fossil organisms. It emphasizes specimen-based research and features high quality illustrations. All taxonomic groups are treated, including invertebrates, microfossils, plants, vertebrates, and ichnofossils.

Paleobiology is published quarterly and focuses on the biological aspects of paleontology. This link gives current tables of contents and addresses of the editorial office. Paleobiology publishes original contributions of any length (but normally 10-50 manuscript pages) dealing with any aspect of biological paleontology. Emphasis is placed on biological or paleobiological processes and patterns, including macroevolution, extinction, diversication, speciation, functional morphology, bio-geography, phylogeny, paleoecology, molecular paleontology, taphonomy, natural selection and patterns of variation, abundance, and distribution in space and time, among others. Taxonomic papers are welcome if they have signicant and broad applications. Papers concerning research on recent organisms and systems are appropriate if they are of particular interest to paleontologists. Papers should typically interest readers from more than one specialty. Proposals for symposium volumes should be discussed in advance with the editors.

  • The Memoirs of the Paleontological Society are occasionally published monographic supplements to the Journal of Paleontology.

The Elements of Paleontology series is a publishing collaboration between the Paleontological Society and Cambridge University Press. The series covers the full spectrum of topics in paleontology and paleobiology, and related topics in the Earth and life sciences of interest to students and researchers of paleontology.
